Background

Currently working as an Administrative Assistant for Bettye Jenkins Ministries & Bettye's Flower Design. 

​

In 2020, I freelanced as an Editor for You Got This Queen (YGTQ).


30 years of service in the Transportation industry & Administrative Ministry. Detailed Project Manager, Supervisor, Event Planner, Customer Service Manager, Communications/Social Media Manager, Trainer, Teacher, Editor, Proofreader, Office Manager, TV Producer & Graphic Design Creator. 


I believe hard work, excellent work habits & behaviors along with honesty & integrity produce success in life.

God has blessed me to be able to retire with full benefits at the age of 51 in order to help and assist in His Kingdom work. 

​

He afforded me the opportunity to obtain training and experience in many different areas while in the transportation industry, being promoted 5 times at the same organization starting out as a Transit Bus Operator at the age of 22.

​

He has given me the experience and the freedom to help others in order to bring Him glory. 


I stand firmly on, I’m in this world to help others and ‘people need other people’ to make it in this world.

Experience

Chapel Hill Transit/Town of Chapel Hill 

July 1990 – July 2019 (Retired) Chapel Hill Transit is the 2nd largest transit system in NC providing around 7 million rides per year with approximately 200 employees serving the Chapel Hill, Carrboro, UNC Hospitals and the University of North Carolina communities since 1974.


2016 - 2019 Community Outreach Manager

·       Coordinated all community events including information tables, bus orientations, shuttles, presentations, how to ride, etc. Marketed the company and its services.

·       Coordinated and responded to all customer complaints, compliments, inquiries and feedback. Managed the customer complaint process.

·       Created and issued all service alerts and press releases for service changes, detours, emergency events, shuttle service, etc. Maintained database and mailing list.

·       Managed social media outlets.

·       Event coordinator for approximately 10-12 events per year for entire department.


2012 - 2016 Assistant Operations Manager – Fixed Route

·       Supervised120+ employees including supervisors, dispatchers and bus operators including work assignments, work schedules, leave requests, attendance and employee performance.

·       Responsible for the daily street operations of 100 buses ensuring timely, safe, courteous and consistent service.

·       Interviewed, hired and trained new employees. Retraining of current employees.

·       Investigated and oversight of accidents, incidents, safety violations and complaints.

·       Oversight of intrigue payroll system (daily, weekly and bi-weekly).

·       Coordinated and organized monthly & weekly staff meetings.

·       Coordinated and assisted with on the job injuries, family medical leave and HR related inquires, forms and benefits.


2006 – 2012 Customer Service Supervisor

·       Coordinated and responded to all customer complaints, compliments, inquiries and feedback. Managed the customer complaint process including investigation, resolution, operator discipline, correction and retraining.

·       Created and issued all service alerts and press releases for service changes, detours, emergency events, shuttle service, etc. Maintained database and mailing list.

·       Assisted Safety & Training Coordinator with new hire training classes. Hiring and training.

·       Certified disabled customers to paratransit transportation according to federal (Americans with Disabilities Act) and departmental guidelines.

2001 – 2006 Supervisor

·       Supervised, coached, directed and disciplined 100+ operators. 

·       Insured the daily operations of services on the street including responding to operator’s calls, questions and customer issues.

·       Insured routes (buses) operated services on time and as scheduled.

·       Investigated, complaints, accidents, incidents, safety violations.

·       Fill-In dispatcher and operator, as needed.


1995 - 2001 Dispatcher

·       Supervised, coached, directed and disciplined 100+ operators. 

  • Assigned work; prepared assignment sheets; and provided daily records for events, absences and updates; monitored overtime.

  • Prepared daily payroll submissions.

  • Made necessary schedule adjustments to ensure and maintain overall system efficiency.


1995 -1990 Bus Operator

·       Operated transit vehicles and transported customers to their destination in a timely and safe manner.

2005 to Present - Administrative Assistant
